Support Our WorkCybernaut, released by Bally in 1985, emerged during the height of science fiction and cyberpunk influence in popular culture. Designed by Greg Kmiec with art by Doug Watson the machine captured the zeitgeist of the era, when movies like TRON and The Terminator were defining cyber-themed entertainment.
The game's design featured a futuristic cyber theme with neon-styled motifs and electronic sound effects characteristic of the solid-state era. It utilized solid-state electronics and digital scoring, moving beyond the electro-mechanical systems of earlier decades while predating the dot-matrix display revolution of the 1990s.
