Support Our WorkThe machine featured classic bowling imagery with pins, bowling balls, and bowling alley scenery depicted in its artwork. As one of several bowling-themed pinball machines produced during this era, Bowl a Strike represented the confluence of two major American entertainment forms: bowling and pinball.
While George Molentin was the typical artist for all Williams machines, Molentin was promoted to Art Director for Advertising Posters and by 1965 was producing less actual artwork. A new hire, Art Stenholm produced the artwork for this game and was being mentored to replace Roy Parker who was dying from cancer.
